Senani has been
playing weekly in reputable Sydney–based venues with her Funk/Jazz band. With smooth, soulful vocals which has been described as unique and powerful by audiences, Senani knows how to entertain the crowd with a mix of cool, funk/soul tracks, uptempo funk/dance and moody jazz.

 

Senani composes her own material and has released 3 albums over the last 5 years,
all of which have received acclaim reviews by prominent music magazine drum media, 3D world and has aired Australia-wide on FM stations (106.9 NXFM Newcastle with live interviews, 96.9 groove FM with live interview with Yvette Duncan from MTV Australia, Today FM and several other Sydney and Wollongong radio stations as well as interstate FM stations). Her lattest album was recorded Live at "The Metro" in 2005 and features a
7 piece band.

Senani has been dancing and singing from the age of six years old. She comes from a musical background, her mother Jeevarani is a well known actress/dancer/singer from the 1960s/1970s. Senani began songwriting from the age of fifteen and also plays piano/keyboards. From the age of 10, Senani has had extensive formal training in Vocals and Pianoforte, scoring honors in AMEB exams. She has been performing around Sydney in the last 5 years and is originally from Newcastle.

In 1993/1994, she was the opening act for Silverchair (then Innocent Criminal) and Margaret Urlich at the Mattara Music Festival in Newcastle. She has won several music competitions in Newcastle for singing accomplishments. She has appeared on national TV-Newcastle NBN  telethon and music variety show in Asia and her video clip for her single "I am Gone" aired on MTV and RAGE
in 2002/3.

Her musical influences include Billie Holiday, Gershwin, Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu and Maxwell.
